Autonomous System Number (ASN)

An Autonomous System Number (ASN) is a unique identifier assigned to each autonomous system (AS) on the internet. These numbers are essential for the exchange of routing information between neighbouring ASes and are used by network operators to control routing within and among blocks of IP addresses. ASNs play a crucial role in ensuring each packet of data takes the most efficient path across the global internet. For more detailed information, please refer to the official documentation.

rdap-entity

An ASN is often associated with an entity, which can be an organisation or an individual responsible for management and operations of the network represented by the ASN. The rdap-entity type allows users to query associated metadata about these entities, providing insights into the owner and administrative details of a particular ASN within the Overmind ecosystem.
