Capacity Reservation

The EC2 Capacity Reservation service in Amazon Web Services (AWS) enables you to reserve capacity for your Amazon EC2 instances in a specific Availability Zone. This ensures that you have access to the instance capacity you require when you need it, regardless of your instance demand. Capacity reservations can be created, managed, and utilised independently of your on-demand or reserved instances. For more details, please refer to the official AWS documentation on EC2 Capacity Reservations.

ec2-placement-group

EC2 Placement Groups are related to Capacity Reservations in that they both deal with how EC2 instances are allocated. Capacity Reservations ensure that there is reserved capacity for instances, while Placement Groups ensure those instances are placed according to specific performance or availability needs, such as being in close proximity for low-latency workloads.

ec2-capacity-reservation-fleet

The EC2 Capacity Reservation Fleet is directly linked to Capacity Reservations as it allows you to create a fleet of Capacity Reservations. This fleet enables you to manage multiple capacity reservations that span multiple instance types and sizes, allowing for more flexible and efficient resource management in your deployments.
